Jeannine Houx, M.S., Licensed Professional Counselor

Jeannine is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education from Ozark Christian Collage in Joplin, Missouri and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. She has experience working with Children as young a 4 years old, pre-teens and adolescents as well as adults including adults with severe and chronic mental disorders.

Jeannine has experience working with children in Non-directive Play Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reduce maladaptive behavior, improve self esteem and relationships as well as processing trauma related to neglect or abuse. She also has several years experience working with adults with depression, anxiety and severe mood disorders including Bi-Polar and Schizophrenia. With training in EMDR Jeannine works with adults with a history of abuse and trauma as well as recent trauma related to loss or other traumatic events.

Jeannine uses a Client Centered approach to therapy and believes the client is the best agent of change in their own life when approached with respect, purpose and hopefulness. Methods of therapy used include Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, EMDR, Play Therapy, PCIT and Psychotherapy.
